Einsturzende Neubauten - "Tabula Rasa". "Wings of Desire" Soundtrack - This is the soundtrack from Wim Wender's movie "Wings of Desire". According to reviews, "a little bit of everything can be found on this soundtrack to German director Wim Wenders's 1987 film: theme music, songs from the film, and even some dialogue. It's an eclectic mix, but it hangs together well, instantly evoking the moody, somber texture of Wenders's remarkable story of an angel's desire to once again become flesh and blood. And even if you haven't seen the film, several songs featured prominently in it make this soundtrack an essential listen - namely, Nick Cave's relentlessly spooky 8-minute "The Carny", and "From Her to Eternity", and Crime and the City Solution's brilliant "Six Bells Chime." Fong Sai Yuk DVD - This is one of Jet Li's most amusing movies! According to reviews, "martial arts idol Jet Li portrays a real life turn-of-the-century Cantonese patriot, the dauntless Fong Sai-Yuk. This film delivers many lively and funny sequences. Josephine Siao, a Cantonese film star of the '60s, in both comedies and high-flying swordplay films, plays Fong Sai-Yuk's martial mother. Institute Benjamenta VHS - By The Brothers Quay. The full title is "Institute Benjamenta, or This Dream People Call Human Life". Rare and out-of-print. This amazing, and incredibly hard to find movie was the first feature-length, live action feature film by The Brothers Quay. New York Magazine called it "a great feast of fetishized imagery". Terry Gilliam called it "the most visually beautiful and hauntingly humorous film I have seen in the last three hundred years." The Village Voice heralded it as "the strangest, prettiest, most mesmerizing debut since Eraserhead." According to the box, "Institute Benjamenta combines the fantastic, the mystical, and the fairytale in a beautiful, shadowy reverie as astonishing and unique as any of the Quay's animations... Institute Benjamenta lures the audience through the labyrinthine corridors of the Institute and the entangled lives of its haunted occupants." Malice Mizer DVD - "Merveilles Cinq Parallele". Rare and out of print! Malice Mizer was a Japanese band in the Visual Kei music scene, active from 1992 to 2001. Malice Mizer were as famous for their one-of-a-kind music as for their spectacular live shows, featuring lavish historical costumes and stage sets, whimsical dance routines and band members flying suspended from wires. "Merveilles" was Malice Mizer's first major label album, and featured Gackt as the vocalist. This is an absolutely amazing DVD from one of the most influential Visual Kei bands of all time.
